A roundtable discussion was held at the UN Office in Azerbaijan, organized by the Azerbaijan Industrial Safety Association (AISA) to support COP29 initiatives in Azerbaijan and accelerate decarbonization efforts. The event was structured as a workshop to discuss practical steps and collaboration opportunities for implementing the declarations signed by private construction sector companies in July regarding COP29 initiatives.
Representatives from leading organizations including PMD Projects, Hünər Group, Kristal Absheron MTK, Avant Group, UN Global Compact, Cəbrayıl, Qubadlı, Zəngilan BTİX, Pasha Real Estate Group, Baku City Residences, Aral Group, 6-cı mərtəbə LLC, UNEP, SR Construction Co MMC, AZCD QRUP JSC, Alltegrity Group, Binancycle MMC, and Ağdam-Füzuli-Xocavənd BTİX participated in the discussions. The workshop explored concrete measures to meet climate commitments and potential collaboration across different sectors.
The session was professionally led by Alida Saleh and brought together a wide spectrum of participants representing the industry and supply chain. Samir Məmmədov, Country Manager of UN Global Compact Azerbaijan, and his team provided valuable support in organizing and conducting the event.
The roundtable was recognized as an important step toward achieving COP29 goals and fostering a low-carbon economy. Participants emphasized the critical role of the private sector in such initiatives and highlighted the need to intensify these efforts in the future.
